Job Description:
We are urgently hiring a Pastry Commis (Croissants) for our newly established bakery in Bahrain. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment focused on producing innovative and modern bakery goods. The ideal candidate should be passionate about pastry making, eager to learn, and inspired to work under the supervision of our Head Chef.
Main Responsibilities:
- Assist the Head Chef in preparation, baking, and maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen.
- Demonstrate knowledge of pastry techniques including scaling, mixing, proofing, baking, decorating, and finishing.
- Manage the production of pastries and bread.
- Perform administrative duties to ensure an efficient workspace.
- Supervise and inspect all preparation and cooking equipment to maintain cleanliness and operational efficiency.
- Ensure adherence to food quality, preparation standards, recipes, and presentation guidelines.
- Monitor food holding, storage operations, stocking, and food rotation to meet sanitation standards.
- Adhere to nutrition, sanitation regulations, and safety standards.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; formal culinary training or associate degree in culinary arts preferred.
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in pastry production within a Food & Beverage environment; experience in a similar role is advantageous.
